If You're A Democrat

Opposed to the war in Iraq? Many wounded warriors are also opposed to the war. A soldier does not choose the assignment. Our troops go where they are sent and do the job demanded of them.

Some warriors joined the armed forces long before 9/11. Some NCOs have served for over a decade. They don't serve because of politics or because they support a administration. They serve because they believe in America.

Some warriors signed up as a result of 9/11 before war was declared. Many enlisted for personal reasons. Some may have lost family, Some because they lost friends or maybe they just lost some of their fellow countrymen and decided to take it as a personal insult.

Many Democrats have a family tradition of serving in the military, law enforcement or fire fighting. Some members of the military are just a part of the action because of their intrinsic family values.

If You're A Republican

Republicans often say they support a limited government, individually responsible society.

This is the time to be a responsible individual. This is the time to accept the consequences of sending our troops into harm's way.

Veterans are put into a national socialistic health care bureaucracy overloaded with paper and Red Tape. The waiting lists and the service quality do not measure up to the care available in the private sector..

The prosthetics which the VA supplies are minimal in their functionality. Basically, they are low tech mechanical devices which look good but do not provide the degree of enablement that you would expect if you could buy whatever you needed.

These warriors laid their lives on the line to defend this country and paid the price. They don't want to live on disability for the rest of their lives but rather want to live as fully productive citizens of our society. We have an opportunity to respond to their sacrifice and assist in providing them the means to once again function fully as responsible and enabled members of our national economy.

If you're a Libertarian

Freedom and Sovereignty are two entirely different things. And our country is defended by an all voluntary military.

Can a Libertarian agree with you on economic and social issues and yet still exercise his or her free will in deciding to place himself in harm's way?

While dismantling the national government and replacing it with free market solutions — Support, also, the individual's right to choose how he or she will function within our nation. Those individuals who choose to function within society, can only do so, if they also also recognize some degree of personal responsibility for a neighbor's genuine lack. Liberty allows each individual to decide to what degree he or she will contribute to help others.

Wounded vets desire to be productive members of society just as you do. But, while missing a limb, it is very difficult to earn a living.

It is in your best economic interests to liberate wounded warriors from the VA's military welfare, so that they can get out and accomplish the things which freedom permits.
